The Changcuters announce their 2026 UK tour. Experience the iconic Indonesian rock band live in Newcastle, Edinburgh, and London as they fulfill a 20-year dream.

The Changcuters: From Lyrics to The Real London

JAKARTA – The lyrics “London, London ingin ku ke sana…(London, London I want to go there…)” have echoed through the Indonesian music scene for nearly two decades. The Changcuters first introduced this iconic line in their 2006 debut album, Mencoba Sukses. What once started as a lighthearted dream in a recording studio finally transforms into a concrete reality this year. The band officially announces their first-ever United Kingdom tour, proving that their Hijrah ke London (Migration to London) is no longer just a song title.

A Deep-Rooted Musical Connection

The United Kingdom represents more than just a tour destination for Dipa, Qibil, Tria, Alda, and Erick. This region serves as the primary source of their musical identity, fashion, and onstage energy. Tria credits British legends like The Rolling Stones for shaping his artistic perspective. Meanwhile, Qibil finds his personal style and attitude mirrored in the UK scene, viewing it as his true musical home. This tour functions as a spiritual homecoming to the birthplace of their greatest inspirations.

The Tour Schedule and Historic Venues

The band schedules their UK journey from April 12 to April 23, 2026. They kick off the performances on April 15 at Tapyard, Newcastle. The energy moves to Scotland on April 17 for a show at Hangar 5 Potterrow in Edinburgh. The Changcuters eventually reach their ultimate lyrical destination on April 19, performing at the Great Hall in London. Various Indonesian student associations and community groups in the UK provide vital support for these historic dates.

Completing the Creative Circle

This tour marks a significant milestone beyond their previous international shows in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. Tria describes the experience as “returning to a place they have only ever heard of and imagined”. Every “Berangkaaattt…(off we go..!!) ” shouted from the stage now carries a literal meaning as they travel across the English countryside. The Changcuters successfully bridge the gap between imagination and experience, completing a creative circle that began twenty years ago.
