JAKARTA – Jakarta-based pop-rock band FILM. officially released their debut album, Manuskrip, on July 3, 2026. Music lovers can now stream the 12 tracks, including a special intro, on all major digital platforms. Consequently, the band already attracts wide attention across the national music scene.
The group features Pandu Priyanto on vocals, Johanes Abi on guitar, Anandya Kurniawan on bass, and Dimas Poncodiwiryo on drums. Together, they create an exciting alternative pop-rock sound. Moreover, they mix this style with the familiar sounds of Indonesian pop from the 2000s. Through this debut work, the musicians want to bring back a nostalgic atmosphere for millennials. At the same time, they offer a fresh sound that speaks directly to younger listeners today.
The album “Manuskrip” explores the big theme of the human life journey. In fact, the band arranges each song like connected pages of a single script. The tracks describe different phases of life, which include hope, emptiness, regret, and celebration.
Bassist Anandya Kurniawan explained the main idea behind the music. He believes that the album serves as a metaphor for destiny and human life. Furthermore, Wawan stated that destiny shapes our lives, but humans still hold the power to find their own meaning in every step. Therefore, the album highlights the beautiful meeting between fate and human choice.
This intense production process also gave the members a great opportunity to build their musical identity. Drummer Dimas Poncodiwiryo shared that the album creation helped everyone understand each other’s musical character and production goals much better.
However, this achievement required hard work and teamwork. Dimas mentioned that the band members viewed the process as a true journey. Specifically, they learned to compromise on many production aspects so they could deliver the best possible quality for every single song.
To represent the album’s emotional core, FILM. selected Karena (Ku Tak Tahu) as their focus track. This song marks a vital turning point in the album’s narrative arc. Interestingly, the lyrics present a very different kind of breakup story.
Instead of focusing on anger or a loss of love, the track tells the story of someone who ends a perfectly good relationship. The character makes this choice because they still do not understand their own life purpose and goals. Additionally, the smooth slow-pop arrangement beautifully enhances the song’s reflective mood and deep emotion.
Ultimately, the band wants to revive the golden era of millennial pop music that ruled television and radio stations during the 2000s. Nevertheless, they polish this nostalgic feeling with a very modern touch.
Vocalist Pandu Priyanto hopes that these new songs will inspire the youth of today. He explicitly wishes that Manuskrip can act as a gateway for young people to discover and love Indonesian pop music. Furthermore, he hopes these tracks stay in their memories forever, just like the 2000s hits that still inspire the band today. This powerful debut clearly marks the beginning of an exciting musical journey for FILM.
PG Records officially released the album on July 3, 2026, under the copyright â„— 2026 PG Records. The band FILM. produced the entire project themselves, while Pandu Priyanto composed the heartfelt tracks. Additionally, Johanes Abi played the guitar and handled both mixing and mastering engineering duties. Daniel Hasudungan played the synthesizer to enrich the sound. Furthermore, Dimas Poncodiwiryo and Pandu Priyanto worked together as recording engineers. Finally, Najwa Nadyetta and Akhira Nabilla managed the Artists and Repertoire (A&R) responsibilities to ensure the album’s success.
