JAKARTA – Badan Perfilman Indonesia / BPI (The Indonesian Film Board) officially introduces its new board members for the 2026–2030 period. This announcement marks a significant step during the post-pandemic recovery of the national film industry. General Chairman Fauzan Zidni identifies human resource development as his primary mission. He plans to synchronize film curricula and launch an internship hub for aspiring creators. Furthermore, BPI sends young talents to top international film schools and global film labs to sharpen their skills.
Legal Reforms and Investment Safety
BPI also collaborates with the Ministry of Culture of Indonesia to revise the National Film Law. This legal movement aims to strengthen BPI as an institution and protect film professionals. Consequently, the new law will offer better legal certainty for investors and secure freedom of expression for artists. Minister of Culture Fadli Zon expects the new board to build a stronger film ecosystem. He emphasizes that BPI acts as a vital bridge between the government and the film community. Therefore, transparent management remains a top priority to provide more space for creative talents.
A Strategic Dream Team
The new structure features highly respected figures from the Indonesian movie scene. Judith Jubilina Dipodiputro leads the Supervisory Board with members like Fajar Nugros and Danu Murti. Meanwhile, famous actor Reza Rahadian serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board. He works alongside industry legends such as Christine Hakim and Joko Anwar. Additionally, well-known celebrities take on strategic roles to boost the industry’s reach. Luna Maya manages international cooperation, while Wulan Guritno handles film festivals and Putri Ayudya leads film literacy.
Fighting Piracy and Celebrating Excellence
The board immediately tackles major industry threats by forming a specialized anti-piracy task force. This group leads a comprehensive movement to stop illegal film distribution across the country. At the same time, BPI prepares for the Festival Film Indonesia / FFI (Indonesian Film Festival) 2026. Ario Bayu leads the festival committee with support from Prilly Latuconsina and other experts. Ultimately, these collective efforts aim to foster sustainable progress. BPI invites all filmmakers to collaborate and drive the Indonesian film industry toward a brighter future.
