TABANAN– Art & Bali returns to Nuanu Creative City in Tabanan from September 11 to 13, 2026. This international exhibition provides a contextual platform for contemporary art enthusiasts. Twenty galleries participate as the core of the art fair this year. The event also features a curatorial exhibition exploring the intersections of fashion, art, and craft. This gathering unites various cultural actors within a single creative space.
Last year’s edition featured over 150 talented artists. The event involved 18 participants and one major curatorial group exhibition. More than 10,000 visitors attended the fair during its previous run. These impressive numbers solidify Art & Bali’s position as a rapidly growing platform. The organizers combine local approaches with global connections to reach a wider audience.
Defining the Boutique Art Fair Concept
The boutique international art fair concept drives the development of the exhibition. This specific format connects galleries, collectors, artists, and cultural practitioners. The Balinese context adds a deep layer of tradition to the entire event. The upcoming edition emphasizes a clearer marketplace function for all participants. However, the organizers maintain spaces for cross-disciplinary dialogue throughout the venue. These interactions encourage reflective collection practices among art patrons.
Bridging Global Cultural Representations
“Art & Bali bridges Indonesian cultural representation at a global level,” states Lev Kroll, Chief Executive Officer of Nuanu Creative City. Kroll believes art unites different parties with shared interests. His statement reinforces the role of culture as a fundamental foundation for the fair. Investors and community members also play vital roles within this creative ecosystem. Fair Director Kelsang Dolma emphasizes a long-term development strategy for the brand. “We build a credible art fair rooted in culture,” She explains. The team develops the format according to the Balinese context rather than imitating foreign models.
Exploring Interdisciplinary Perspectives
The organizers expand public programs through various discussions and performances. Art & Bali 2026 appoints Bandana Tewari as the lead curator for the exhibition and Brina Paska supports the event as the assistant curator. Tewari brings extensive experience in fashion, culture, and sustainability to the project. Meanwhile, Paska contributes a curatorial perspective rooted in contemporary art and Indonesian textile culture. The exhibition examines the intricate relationship between fashion, art, and craft. This approach treats materials, bodies, and memories as essential parts of artistic practice. Bandana Tewari explores material-based practices and personal experiences through this unique collaboration.
