JAKARTA – SoundCloud has formed a new partnership with ElevenLabs through its AI music creation service, ElevenMusic. As a result, users can now publish AI-generated tracks directly to their SoundCloud accounts. Moreover, they no longer need to download audio files and upload them manually.
This integration directly connects the music creation process on ElevenMusic with distribution on SoundCloud. Therefore, SoundCloud has become the first external platform to support direct publishing from ElevenMusic. Users must first connect their SoundCloud accounts through the Linked Accounts menu in ElevenMusic profile settings. After selecting an original song, they can add a description, genre, and tags. Then, they simply click Save to SoundCloud, and the song appears on their SoundCloud profile.
Additionally, system tags will clearly mark all songs shared through this feature to show that the music comes from ElevenMusic. SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton stated that his platform has always served as a place for musicians to experiment. Consequently, he hopes this partnership will expand opportunities for creators to explore AI technology while still respecting the human role in the creative process.
Meanwhile, this launch comes during an ongoing debate within the music industry regarding AI music. Some copyright holders are demanding that streaming platforms restrict or remove AI content. Nevertheless, SoundCloud continues to open access to this technology with clear conditions.
Beyond this partnership, ElevenLabs has also joined DDEX as a full member. Consequently, ElevenLabs has become the first AI company to achieve full membership status in this global music data standards organization. Through this membership, ElevenLabs will actively participate in shaping digital data exchange standards alongside other industry leaders. Overall, these updates clearly demonstrate how ElevenLabs is expanding AI technology across the entire music ecosystem.
Specifically, SoundCloud requires all published songs to follow content policies and copyright rules. Therefore, users must ensure that their materials do not violate the rights of other musicians or creators. Furthermore, AI content must not mislead listeners about who created the track, and creators cannot imitate an artist’s voice without permission.
