JAKARTA – The Indonesian indie group Float captures their open-air concert experience in a new live album titled Live at Float2Nature 2026. The band released the album on digital music platforms on October 28, 2026. They recorded the live material during the Float2Nature event on the coast of Madasari-Batukaras Beach, Pangandaran, West Java.
This album captures Float’s performance against a coastal landscape as part of their Constant Changes EP release celebration. During the show, the band members—Hotma “Meng” Roni Simamora, David Qlintang, Binsar Tobing, and Timur Segara—played key songs from their musical career.
Most notably, the band performed a 5-minute 26-second medley that combines four iconic tracks: Reborn, I.H.I, Waltz Musim Pelangi, and 3 Hari Untuk Selamanya. Furthermore, these four songs represent Float’s journey over nearly two decades. For instance, Float wrote 3 Hari Untuk Selamanya for Riri Riza’s movie soundtrack. In addition, they included Waltz Musim Pelangi in the 2008 compilation Songs Inspired by Laskar Pelangi. Later, they released the single I.H.I in 2011 and Reborn as a theme song for the Wonderful Indonesia campaign.
Lead vocalist and main songwriter Meng describes this live album as a living document. He explains that studio recordings cannot replicate the natural energy of live shows, such as the sound of ocean waves and rustling leaves.
Float created the concert concept in 2012 under the philosophy When music travels back to mother nature. Therefore, the event brings music performances to natural locations with limited crowd capacity. Over the years, Float has invited their fan community, known as Floatmates, to join these events.
Initially, the band held the first edition in the Dieng Plateau in 2012. Subsequently, they moved the event to Tanakita, Sukabumi in 2013, and Kiluan Bay, Lampung in 2014. In 2022, they hosted the event at Situgunung in Mount Gede Pangrango National Park.
Finally, the 2026 edition in Madasari–Batukaras continued this traditional vision by presenting live music in an open natural setting. Besides the music, Float and their community actively practice zero-waste principles and organize beach cleanup activities. Ultimately, Live at Float2Nature 2026 preserves this unique concert atmosphere in digital audio form.
