JAKARTA – The Indonesian music scene reaches a new milestone as the supergroup Kirribilly prepares for a massive international stage. The band recently confirmed their participation in the prestigious International Beatleweek 2026. This event serves as the ultimate gathering for Beatles fans across the globe. Following an official invitation from Cavern City Tours Ltd, the group will travel to Liverpool, England, to perform. The festival runs from August 26 through September 1, 2026.
A Powerhouse Lineup of Familiar Faces
Kirribilly functions as a collaborative project featuring veteran musicians with deep roots in the Indonesian industry. The lineup brings together Dikky Lennon on vocals, keyboard, and guitar alongside Ade Govinda on vocals and guitar. Rafly Abidin from The Banery handles vocals and bass, while the energetic Ikmal Tobing takes over vocals and drums. Although the band only formed in 2024, the public already knows these members well for their work across Southeast Asia. Their combined experience creates a strong musical foundation that goes beyond simple covers.
Fresh Interpretations Over Simple Replication
The band stands out because they offer a unique interpretative approach to the legendary Beatles catalog. Instead of just copying the original recordings, they create fresh arrangements with a distinct identity. They respect the original material but always find room for musical exploration. Consequently, their style appeals to modern audiences while keeping the spirit of the classic songs alive. This creative strength helped them secure their spot at the festival.
Preparing for the Global Stage
Before heading to the United Kingdom, Kirribilly plans a warm-up tour across several major Indonesian cities. This tour allows the band to connect with local fans and sharpen their performance skills. Therefore, they will be fully prepared to face thousands of international spectators in Liverpool. Their presence proves that the Indonesian tribute community continues to grow and gain global recognition.
Looking Toward a European Future
The journey might not end in the city of Liverpool. Ade mentioned that the band wants to extend their tour to other European countries if they receive a positive response. Currently, the group remains in communication with various international partners to discuss these future dates. For now, Kirribilly focuses on representing Indonesia and expanding the reach of Indonesian musicians on the world stage.
