JAKARTA – Dewa 19 fans experienced a massive shock on June 6, 2026. Legendary Indonesian drummer Tyo Nugros failed to appear at the highly anticipated concert inside the Unifi Arena Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.. Instead of seeing him perform live on stage, the audience watched a sudden video message from Tyo on the stadium’s big screens during the event.
In the pre-recorded video, Tyo explained the unfortunate situation directly to his loyal followers. Immigration officers stopped him at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta on Friday, June 5, just one day before the concert. Specifically, the State Wealth and Auction Service Office (Kantor Pelayanan Kekayaan Negara dan Lelang/ KPKNL) Jakarta 1 issued an unexpected travel ban against him. As a result, authorities denied his departure from the country during the regular immigration check. Tyo clearly stated that he does not know the underlying cause of this sudden legal restriction. Currently, the drummer and his family are actively gathering more details to resolve the confusing matter as quickly as possible.
The Show Must Go On
This surprising development initially caused deep disappointment among the fans, famously known as Baladewa. However, the management of Dewa 19 responded swiftly to save the special evening for their international audience. The band immediately selected Al Ghazali to occupy the vacant drummer seat for the night. Therefore, the live show proceeded according to schedule without any further disruptions or delays.
“Despite the sudden absence of their iconic drummer, Dewa 19 delivered an energetic and highly successful performance for their Malaysian audience.”
Local media outlets highly praised the veteran rock group for their incredible showmanship and professionalism. The band played more than 25 of their greatest hits during the energetic night. Furthermore, three distinct vocalists—Ari Lasso, Ello, and Virzha—led the massive crowd through an unforgettable musical journey that kept everyone singing along until the very end.
