ArtMoments Jakarta 2026 Celebrating Southeast Asian Art

ArtMoments Jakarta 2026 returns with the theme "Offerings," showcasing 70 galleries, legendary art masters, and interactive programs for Gen Z.

JAKARTA – Economic uncertainty cannot stop the artistic spirit in Jakarta. ArtMoments Jakarta returns this year to the Agora Ballroom at Agora Mall level 2 in Central Jakarta. The highly anticipated art fair runs from June 4 to June 7, 2026. This year, the organizers welcome 70 prominent art galleries from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea. Consequently, the event solidifies Jakarta’s position as a vital hub for Southeast Asian contemporary art conversations.

The 2026 edition introduces the central theme of Offerings. This theme invites the public to experience art beyond mere aesthetic beauty. Curator Jeong Ok Jeon explains that the curatorial team wants people to connect deeply with the art world. Therefore, the fair acts as a meaningful space for human connections, shared emotions, and the exchange of ideas.

Exhibiting artists present their unique interpretations of the theme through various mediums. Visitors see diverse graphic art, creative installations, and participatory pieces. Many artworks discuss ecology within the art world, social memories, and intimate human issues. Furthermore, the exhibition beautifully blends the works of legendary masters and modern contemporary creators.

Art lovers can appreciate masterpieces from legendary artists like Sudjana Kerton, S. Sudjojono, Mochtar Apin, Gregorius Sidharta, Made Wianta, and Jeihan Sukmantoro. At the same time, fresh contemporary voices like Demi Padua and Arifin Neif surprise the audience with unique styles. Co-Founder and Fair Director Sendy Widjaja stresses that the event serves as more than a simple marketplace. Instead, ArtMoments shapes cross-cultural dialogues and fosters mutual respect among art lovers.

During the opening ceremony, performance artist Henri Affandi captivated the audience with his piece titled Sajja. He reimagined the artistic process as a form of devotion to Mother Earth. He successfully transformed hard labor, farming, and creation into a poetic gift. Thus, his performance perfectly mirrors the spirit of this year’s theme.
