JAKARTA – the Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta currently hosts the eighteenth Jalan Menuju Media Kreatif (JMMK) exhibition. Curated by Dr. Fassih Keiso from Cairo, this exciting event brings together 161 creative artworks from 12 different countries. Next, visitors can explore these unique creations at the Pendapa Artspace in Sewon, Bantul Regency. Furthermore, the exhibition officially runs from October 23 to October 29, 2026. Previously, Vice Governor of DIY, KGPPA Paku Alam X, opened the showcase on a Friday night. He attended the opening ceremony alongside the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta and the academic community.
Initially, the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts organized this massive international event. Currently, artists present many types of work, including photography, films, video art, animation, games, digital content, and interactive art.
Additionally, the creators proudly display art that uses artificial intelligence. Consequently, the organizers chose a powerful theme for this year which focuses on redefinition, reinterpretation, and reapplication. Therefore, they invite the public to see how artists create, interpret, and apply art today.
Undeniably, technology changes very fast, and artificial intelligence brings a major disruption to the creative world. Because of this, the organizers believe the art community must respond to these rapid changes. Specifically, they want to redefine the meaning of art in modern times.
Meanwhile, they also seek to reinterpret old ideas using new digital tools. Ultimately, this exhibition helps everyone understand how technology currently shapes the future of human creativity.
