The Future for Kids 2026 festival took place in Valencia, Spain, from October 5 to October 8, 2026. Teater Tanah Air performed a stunning visual show full of human values. Consequently, the team took home the Second Place prize for Best Group. Furthermore, they won the Audience Choice Award. The festival also recognized individual talents. For example, Reboo Annur won Best Choreography. Additionally, Alexa Rahman earned the Best Supporting Actor award.
Hard Work and Global Recognition
Production leader Nuansa Ayu Jawadwipa praised the group for these achievements. She stated that the four awards highlight the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of all the actors and staff. Nuansa explained that this success means more than just winning a contest. Instead, it shows great appreciation for the creativity of Indonesian children. These young actors successfully shared important messages about peace, humanity, and environmental care through their art. Therefore, Nuansa hopes this achievement motivates young Indonesians to keep creating art and showing their skills to the world. During the festival, Romania won First Place in the Best Group category. Meanwhile, Slovenia took Third Place. Ultimately, this result proves that Indonesian performing arts can easily compete with different traditions from many countries.
A Story of Peace and Nature
At the festival, Teater Tanah Air performed “Spectacle PEACE: A Visual Theatre Performance.” Famous Indonesian writer Putu Wijaya wrote this play. In addition, Jose Rizal Manua directed the amazing show. The play highlights themes of global peace and nature. The child actors delivered a strong message about humanity, unity, and taking care of the Earth. The performance featured several unique characters. Specifically, the audience saw Pemburu Penjahat (The Evil Hunter), Telur dan Anak Dinosaurus (The Egg and The Baby Dinosaur), Lima Anak Benua (Children of Five Continents), and Anak Raksasa Gimbal (Giant Kids with Dreadlocks). Through these characters, the play asked the audience to think about diversity and environmental protection.
Connecting Continents Through Art
This event felt very special for Teater Tanah Air. Surprisingly, Indonesia joined the festival as the only country from outside Europe. The Indonesian group competed alongside seven European nations. These nations included Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Denmark, Georgia, Romania, and Slovenia. According to Nuansa, this artistic approach proves that art builds strong friendships between countries. The theater stage does not just offer a place for creative expression. Moreover, it works as a tool for cultural diplomacy. The stage helps artists share universal values about unity and saving the planet.
Proud Parents and Promising Futures
Thirteen young actors joined this massive performance. The talented cast included Iona Andalucia, Agra Svarnabhumi, Sagara Nirankara, and Alexa Rahman.
